I take this special opportunity as the Managing Director of Mapex Training Institute to thank you all for making your time visiting our Website.

My fellow Papua New Guineans, Mapex Training Institute is here to provide an alternative education system for our children who have been rejected or pushed out by our formal or public education system in PNG. Many times, I ask these questions to myself and try to find answers:

1. Why are our sons and daughters pushed out of the system schools after completing grades 8, 10 and 12?
2. Where would they go to receive tertiary education or skills training to find employment and to live a better life?
3. If they can’t go to school, where would they end up?
4. Will they end up on the streets and became petty bag snatching criminals or beggars in their own country?
5. If our government does not care for the drop-outs and address their concerns and needs, who else would do it?

Fellow country men and women, these are questions that we must try to answer to help solve the puzzle and to find a way forward. I believe that this country will never move forward without educated and skilled population.

If our government can’t do it, we must do it. We must not sit back and complain about the sick public systems because we get nothing out from complaining. We must be pro-active and focus on positive side of things. Look at things from different perspectives because there is always a solution to every problem created by man.

For that and many other reasons, I decided to do something worthwhile to help myself, my family and my country. I registered a community based consultancy company in 2004 and start to train people in Project Proposal Writing, Business Writing, and Report Writing Skills.

I moved around in all centers of PNG and rural communities to conduct these trainings. My aim was to train people on how to write proposals so that they can be able to write and secure funds to develop their communities.

My humble undertakings began to fruition and demand for different training programs began to grow stronger. That is to reach out to the people. We want to bring our training services to the door steps of our people so that they can be able to access quality training right at their doorsteps at an affordable cost.

Ladies and gentlemen, that’s how MAPEX TRAINING INSTITUTE came into existence in 2015, and by now a recognised and accredited Tertiary Learning Institution by DHERST through the NHETB’s decision approved on the 29th November 2024. Now, I am privileged to have this wonderful opportunity to serve as the leader of this Institution. I have dedicated my entire career to MTI, and I know what great potential lies ahead for us. I am deeply committed to improving our training and educational culture for our students and for our community.
